If I file an extension for my individual (1040) tax return, does that also extend my tax payment?

No. Any income tax owed is due by the tax deadline (traditionally April 15th), regardless of extension. We can help you estimate your tax owed and provide you with a voucher to pay if you don’t know. Failure to pay by the deadline will incur penalties.
